1. Privacy Policy & Data Handling
Nyte ("we," "us," or "our") values your privacy. We use anonymous authentication—no email or name is required.
Information We Collect:
We collect (1) bar wait-time submissions you make (the value you select, timestamp, and an anonymous account ID); (2) map reports you submit (report type, venue or area you associate with the report—not continuous GPS from your device—anonymous ID, and your selected school); (3) account preferences, including your selected school and, if you choose to provide them, dorm and floor, stored with your anonymous ID; (4) weekend plans and poll votes you submit (e.g., bar or going-out choices), tied to your anonymous ID and combined into aggregates; (5) product analytics via Firebase Analytics (Google), such as app opens, screen views, onboarding steps, and when you open deal or offer content, which may include coarse attributes like school, dorm, or floor you already provided in the app; and (6) push notification metadata if you opt in, including your device push token and delivery status information needed to send alerts.
Data We Do Not Collect:
We do not collect your precise device location, contacts, or calendar. We do not read your personal messages; notification content is generated by Nyte systems.
How We Use It:
We use this data to attribute reports, calculate wait-time estimates, run weekend polls and aggregate “who’s going out” style features, personalize your experience (such as school, dorm, and floor), understand how the app is used, improve the product, and send optional push notifications such as wait-time and deal updates when enabled. Analytics data is used in aggregated or pseudonymous form. We do not sell or rent user data to third parties.
Push Notifications:
If you enable notifications, we store your push token and may send operational or product alerts (for example wait-time and deal notifications). You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings > Notifications > Nyte. Disabling notifications stops future sends to your device. We may remove stale or invalid tokens automatically.
Session Storage:
We use local storage and Firebase to keep you logged in. This app does not use cookies in the web sense.
Data Retention & Deletion:
We retain data only as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the Delete Account option in the Account screen. Deletion is permanent. Push tokens are retained only while needed for notification delivery and may be deleted when they become invalid or when your account data is deleted.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the Delete Account option in the Account screen or by contacting us at support@collegenightlive.com.
Third-Party Services:
We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, cloud database storage, and Firebase Analytics. Google’s services are subject to Google’s terms and privacy disclosures. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing. Service providers that process data on our behalf are required to protect user data in line with this policy and applicable law.
Strict Non-Sharing Clause: No personal user information—including email addresses or names—will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
2. User Content & Conduct
When you submit bar wait-time vouches, map reports, or weekend poll votes, you agree to the following:
Visibility:
Your submissions contribute to wait-time estimates and map data, and poll data may appear as aggregates (for example percentages or trends), visible to other users at your school.
Moderation:
We reserve the right to remove any content that is harassing, illegal, or violates campus safety standards, and to restrict or block users who violate these terms.
Responsibility:
You are solely responsible for the content you submit.
3. Wait-Time Algorithm Disclaimer
Nyte is an information-sharing tool. Wait times displayed are estimates calculated using a consensus-weighted algorithm based on live user reports and historical baselines.
Accuracy Notice: Real-world conditions change rapidly. We do not guarantee the accuracy of wait times. Use of this data is at your own risk, and we are not liable for any inconvenience or outcome resulting from inaccurate estimates.
4. Third-Party Links
If we add links to third-party websites or apps, we are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.
5. Affiliation
This platform is not affiliated or endorsed by any academic institution.
6. Contact, Support & Reporting
For support, questions, or to report abusive or objectionable content, contact us at support@collegenightlive.com. We will respond in a timely manner and may remove content or take action against users who violate these terms.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Modified" date at the top will be updated when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy. For material changes we may notify you in the app or by email if we have it.
